I'm an Author, Too

Before I started helping other people publish their books, I was trying to figure out how to publish my own.

So when you tell me you've spent three years writing your memoir, I understand what that means. When you're ridiculously excited about seeing your cover for the first time, I get it.

And when handing your manuscript to someone else makes you nervous, I get that too.

Books are personal.

That's a big part of why I work the way I do. I want to know the author, know the story, and understand what you want to see when you finally hold your book in your hands.

I've published six of my own books, so I've been through this process more than a few times. I've also worked directly with
other authors on editing, manuscript and book formatting, and the technical side of self-publishing, helping take them from
“I have this book” to “Here’s where you can buy it.”

My editorial experience comes from years of professional writing and reviewing. I've written for Today's Homeowner and The Austinot and served as an expert article reviewer for U.S. News & World Report.

I'm a member of Phoenix Oasis Press, the San Gabriel Writers' League, and Sisters in Crime. You'll regularly find me working on my craft at writers' conferences, workshops, and anywhere else a bunch of writers are talking about books.
